Submitting Samples

New clients should fill out and submit a Client Account Form to info@synpestlab.com.

Please call or email the lab with your request for testing. Knowing to when to expect your samples helps us deliver on our turnaround times.

Refer to our Recommended Sample Amounts & Containers Guidance. Containers and sampling kits may be provided for water, soil and environmental wipe analysis. Coolers and ice packs may also be available for produce samples. Contact the lab for more information.

Time is always of the essence when testing for pesticides! It is important to get samples to the lab as soon as possible after sampling. There are specific EPA hold times for water (7 days) and soil (14 days) when testing for pesticides. This is the time frame when the results are most accurate, therefore any extraction should be done in the lab within these number of days following sampling.

When submitting samples, please include a completed a Chain of Custody form. Provide information you’d like to appear on the report, including a sample description, sampling date and requested analyses. Finally, sign and date at the bottom where it says, “relinquished by” and send with the samples.

Samples may be hand delivered to the lab or shipped via UPS, FedEx or USPS. Standard overnight delivery is generally best. Include ice packs whenever possible to keep samples cool during transit. A courier service is available free of charge for clients within our courier’s service area.

Frequently Asked Questions

What pesticides do you test?

We are capable for testing over 300 types of insecticides, herbicides and fungicides.  See our List of Analytes for specific pesticides.  We are constantly adding to the list, so please do not hesitate to ask if you need a pesticide you do not see listed.  Depending on your needs, we can run a comprehensive profile, such as a Multiresidue Screen or Fruit Screen, or narrow the list down to one or more target compounds.

What is the cost?

Cost of analysis depends on a few factors:  how many pesticides you’d like to look for, which ones, what type of sample you have and how quickly you need results.  We will work with you to figure out a testing plan within your budget.  Please contact the lab for more details.

How long does testing take?

Results are typically available within 7 to 10 business days for a normal turnaround (TAT). With prior arrangement, samples may be rushed for an up charge depending on our workload.

What accreditation do you have?

We are accredited by ANSI National Accreditation Board (ANAB) for our ISO 17025 Accreditation for Testing Labs.  Please see our scope of accreditation and contact the lab with any questions.
